Music Lessons at North Ealing Primary School

Who are the music teachers?
Music is regarded highly at North Ealing School...

Music is regarded highly at North Ealing School and it is rare not to see a pupil scurrying through a corridor to their music lesson with their instrument in tow! We currently offer lessons in violin, cello, guitar and woodwind (flute/clarinet).

We are fortunate to possess so many budding musicians and the dedicated Music Department is kept busy supplying their needs. An orchestra takes place weekly before school led, by Mr. Mehew. There is a thriving after-school choir run by the same team who have developed a strong, confident sound through performing a wide range of musical styles.

In addition, there is a special Singing Club for Key Stage 1 pupils after school on Mondays.

The choir provides music...

The choir provides music for celebrations in our local community. in December, We have taken part in the Barnardo’s Benefit in the Royal Albert Hall and most recently, the Ealing to Broadway musicals event held in West London.

A Music Concert is held annually during which the choir and orchestra perform alongside solos, and ensembles offered by other pupils.

Additionally, there are a number of recorder and dance groups which add to the creative mix that is such a feature of our pupils. As often as possible, we take a year group to one of the ‘Discovery Concerts’ at the Barbican featuring the London Symphony Orchestra and always enjoy visits/performances from local musicians.

Our pupils are encouraged to offer their musical skills in class Assemblies and many take advantage of the opportunity to perform during school assemblies – a great way to learn how to cope with nerves!
